Elizabeth (Betty) Turner Owen, 92, of Rome, died Wednesday, February 10, 2021. She was born December 24, 1928, in Williamsport, PA the daughter of Glenn and Agnes Postle Turner. On December 5, 1954, she married E. Erwin Owen in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rome. He died November 16, 2007. Elizabeth loved her family, cooking, gardening, and quilting. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and former member of “The Red and White Quilters.”
She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, William and Tammy, Florida, Timothy and Michele, Rome, Robert, Oneida and Dennis and Toni, Rome, Mary Owen of Boonville; ten grandchildren, Kris Owen, Judy and Mike Myers, Evan, Julie, Kevin, Brendan, Candice and Autumn Owen, Tanya Lanas and Dominick Sciorilli; great-grandchildren, Jake and Lucas Myers and Oaklyn. She was predeceased by two brothers, Glenn Turner and Richard Turner.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Interment will be held at a time to be announced in Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Prince-Boyd & Hyatt Home for Funerals, Inc., 210 W. Court Street, Rome, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rome, or Abraham House, Rome.
