EDITORIAL: Heading for Division I
We wish the best of luck to All-American infielder Ryan Enos, who is heading to East Tennessee State University (ETSU) to play Division I baseball for the Bucs. This move comes after the former three-sport superstar at Oriskany Central has played four-plus seasons of college baseball at SUNY Oswego.
Besides receiving numerous honors, Enos graduated as the Lakers’ all-time leader in at-bats, hits, runs, doubles and stolen bases.
Because of the COVID pandemic Enos has one more year of eligibility. And ETSU was his pick.
“Once I knew I was getting two extra years (because of the pandemic), I knew I would be able to go play somewhere else,” Enos said, “and this was just a good fit. It’s a good school with nice facilities, and I think I am going to have the opportunity to go there and make an impact right away.”
He’s certainly ready to move to higher levels of the game. And there’s one more benefit. There’s a lot less snow in Tennessee, where they can play year-round, than there is Oswego.
