eCaboose celebrates grand opening
WHITESBORO — The Mohawk Valley just got a little greener as a new refurbished electronics store celebrated its grand opening. eCabooose, the retail arm of electronics recycling company Sunnking, opened the doors to its first retail store in the Mohawk Valley and second store overall, with another store located in Brockport.
“This opening has been in the works for a while and for us it’s the culmination of years of planning,” said Adam Shine, president of Sunnking. “Central New York is very important to us as we know it’s filled with hard-working people who need devices to reliably get them through their day. eCaboose will be a place for parents, students, or anyone to find what they need, save money on those devices and make an environmentally influential decision in the same process.”
The Whitesboro store, located at 272 Oriskany Blvd, took over the former American Freight warehouse back in 2020 to establish a demanufacturing and recycling facility for Sunnking. With the opening of eCaboose, the location now provides people from the Mohawk Valley options for lower cost, refurbished electronics.
The store will rotate out a diverse lineup of refurbished electronics and will also have a “discount den” area, where certain electronics can go for up to 75% off.
“eCaboose is all about refurbished, low price, high quality electronics,” Shine added. “We’ve got phones, we’ve got TV’s, we’ve got computers and you pay a fraction of the cost of new. We service it here as well, so if you have a problem, whether you bought it here or not, we provide service.”
All refurbished electronics purchased at eCaboose come with a 30-day warrantee, with the option of purchasing an extended warrantee.
eCaboose is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 pm. Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays and closed on Mondays.
