ROME — A 27-year-old man is accused of attacking another man on East Bloomfield Street and sending him to the hospital with serious injuries, according to the Rome Police Department.
Police said Tyler D. Curtis, of Rome, was at a house on East Bloomfield Street around 3:30 a.m. Sunday when he started pummeling another person at the residence. Police said Curtis punched the other man in the face multiple times, then threw him to the ground and started bashing his head against the floor.
The victim was taken to Rome Health with serious wounds to his head and face, police said. The authorities were notified later that morning and Curtis was taken into custody.
Curtis is charged with one count of third-degree assault, police said. He is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
