Earliest boil water order would be lifted in parts of Lee is Wednesday morning
FIXING THE FLOW — Billy Knudsen of the Town of Lee Water Department turns on a hydrant along Turin Road after a six-inch pipe was fixed just north of this hydrant Monday. Knudsen said a line of hydrants needed to be slowly turned on to bleed air from the water lines. Stokes Elementary School was closed today and residences in the town south of the Route 26, Stokes-Lee Center Road were without water because of the break. Bottled water was delivered to the school for Tuesday classes. Officials said Monday night that the earliest the boil water order would be lifted is Wednesday morning, following testing by the Mohawk Valley Water Authority. Residents can check the Town of Lee website for updated information regarding the boil water status.
