ROME — A 51-year-old man registered a blood alcohol content of more than twice the legal limit after his pickup truck crashed into a front porch on East Dominick Street early Wednesday morning, according to the Rome Police Department.

Police said David Combs, of Rome, was driving at about 2:12 a.m. when his 2010 Ford F-150 pickup truck crashed into a parked car and a porch in the 100 block of E. Dominick St. Police said the crash damaged the foundation of the porch.

Combs suffered minor injuries and he declined medical attention, police noted. Combs also registered a BAC of 0.17% — more than twice the legal threshold of 0.08%.

Combs is charged with one count each of driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater, police said. He is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
