A 41-year-old woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after she was found unresponsive behind the wheel on North James Street, according to the Rome Police Department.

Drug charge for unresponsive woman in Rome
ROME — A 41-year-old woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after she was found unresponsive behind the wheel on North James Street, according to the Rome Police Department.
Police said Sondra L. Bonspille, of Oneida, was found unconscious in the driver's seat of a vehicle in the 300 block of N. James St. at about 4:20 p.m. Tuesday. Police said Bonspille was eventually awake, and she was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
While at the hospital, police said a quantity of methamphetamine was found on her person.
Bonspille is charged with driving while intoxicated and seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, police stated. She was released on an appearance ticket for Rome City Court.
