The Rochester-based design firm SWBR has obtained Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for DePaul’s DeWitt Clinton Apartments in Rome, according to a release.
LEED certification is a green building rating system which is the benchmark metric for energy-saving sustainable design.
“DePaul’s DeWitt Clinton Apartments creates 80 high-quality affordable apartments revitalizing the former DeWitt Clinton Elementary School that had long sat vacant.
The community also offers residents access to support services to help them live successfully in the community,” notes a statement.
