UTICA — A 28-year-old man is facing multiple charges for selling the drug fentanyl in Utica, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies said Ryan Lopitz, of Utica, was trafficking in the drug fentanyl from a residence on Whitesboro Street in Utica for a period of time. Deputies said they raided the residence with a search warrant on Monday, and a quantity of fentanyl was seized, along with a quantity of cash.

Lopitz is charged with one count each of third, fourth and seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, authorities said. He is scheduled to appear in Utica City Court.
