Catholic School Association honors: Dale E. Rashford
Dale was born and raised in Rome and began his Catholic education at Rome Catholic High School in September 1969, graduating in June 1973.
During his time at RCH, Rashford was a member of the National Honor Society, senior class president, participated in the school band and was a cast member of the inaugural Red & White Musical Players production of “Hello, Dolly!”
He is the reunion chairman for the the Class of ’73 and is currently working with classmates to plan their 50-year class reunion, which is scheduled for August 2023.
Rashford continued his Catholic education at Le Moyne College, graduating in 1977 with academic honors. His professional business career has revolved around sales and marketing. He is currently sales manager for the Varflex Corporation.
At a young age, he became very interested in athletics and played Little League baseball and Pop Warner football. His favorite sport in high school was basketball. Rashford is passionate about giving back to his community, volunteering his time and helping others and has served Rome Catholic School as a member of various advisory and fundraising committees as well as coaching youth sports for many years.
He has been a member of the Rome Lions Club for 40 years, serving as a past president and a current director. Rashford is also the president and a 30-year member of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials, officiating boys high school basketball.
He and his wife, Judi, belong to St. Peter’s parish where Dale lectors and serves on the Parish Council and Finance Committee.
