CVA, New Hartford, Proctor, VVS athletes lead TVL boys indoor track all-stars

CVA, New Hartford, Proctor, VVS athletes lead TVL boys indoor track all-stars

Track athletes from New Hartford, Thomas R. Proctor High School, Central Valley Academy and Vernon-Verona-Sherrill dominated this year’s Tri-Valley League boys indoor track and field all-stars.

In the Colonial Division, Proctor’s Hector Perez earned first team honors in the 55-meter dash and 300-meter race as well as part of the 4-by-200 relay team along with Jerome McCarthy, Jahliel Thompson and Nico Tidmore.

Fellow Raider Owen Sweet also was named a two-time first team member, for the 600 and 1,000.

Sweet’s also part of two first-team relays, the 4-by-400 with Devin Muniz, Micah Jasper, and Danny Cuadrado and the 4-by-800 with Anthony Brindisi, Aidan Ferguson and Logan Wolfe.

Also on the first team from Proctor are Devin Williams in the long jump and Christian Sanchez in the triple jump.

New Hartford’s Henry Daley is on the first team for the 1,600 and 3,200. Jake Dembrow was a first team selection for the 55-meter hurdles. Ethan Brown was named first team for the weight throw.

Two Whitesboro athletes are on the first team as well — Noah Otto in the pole vault and Anthony Tobiasz in the shot put.

Rome Free Academy’s Micah Ruiz was named to the first team for the high jump.

Whitesboro had two second team relays — the 4-by-200 team of Daschel Smith, Nicholas Demma, Connor Dawes and Jack Towns and the 4-by-400 team of Smith, Demma, Reid O’Bryan and Justin DiGiorgio. Towns was named to the second team for the 55.

The other second team relay was New Hartford’s 4-by-800 team of Josh Ellis, David Daley, Jordan Palmer and Adin Kapo. Kapo was named second team for the 1,000 and 1,600 as well.

Proctor second team honorees were McCarthy in the 300, Muniz in the 55 hurdles and long jump, Tidmore in the 600, Sharborn Jones in the pole vault and Leonardo Checo in the shot put and weight throw.

Three second team spots went to New Hartford athletes: Palmer in the 3,200, Cooper Borelli in the high jump and Requin Thompson in the triple jump.

In the Pioneer Division, CVA’s Logan Hewitt earned first team honors for the 55 hurdles and 55-meter dash. Teammate Tanner Warren was a two-time first team member for the 300 and 600.

The Thunder also had two relay teams on the first team — the 4-by-200 team of Tito Jackson, Richard Grabski, Dominick Aceto and Ethan Meszler and the 4-by-400 team of Jackson, Aceto, Cole DeLuca and Meszler.

CVA also had first team athletes Grabski in the pole vault, Landon Lafountain in the long jump and Alexander Becker in the triple jump.

Jordan Wingert of VVS was a two-time first team member for the 1,000 and 1,600. Teammates Nathn Geroux in the 3,200 and Fateh Syed in the high jump were also on the first team.

The Red Devils also had a relay on first team — the 4-by-800 team of Ben Bellinger, Geroux, Syed and Wingert.

Camden’s Joe Doran was selected to the first team for the shot put and weight throw.

Six VVS athletes and two relays were named to the second team: Harley Hugunine in the 55 hurdles, Franklin Olsen in the 300 and 600, Ben Bellinger in the 1,000, Geroux in the 1,600, Jayden Rose in the long jump as well as the 4-by-200 relay team of Jake Cenname, Jack Checo, Justin Couture and Dan Merril and the 4-by-400 team of Cenname, Merril, Couture and Olsen.

CVA’s 4-by-800 relay team of Matthew Martinez, Liam Maxson, Jack Getman and Cole Zuk was named to the second team, as were Landon LaFountain in the 55, Joe Urtz in the high jump and triple jump, Matthew Martinez in the pole vault and Aiden Wilcox in the shot put.

Camden’s Ryan Beaulac was named second team in the weight throw.

Oneida’s Tyson Fuller was second team in the 3,200.

Honorable mention went to CVA’s Jacob Miller and Conner Brooks.
