WESTMORELAND — Three people were hospitalized — one by helicopter — following a rear-ending on East South Street on Thursday, according to law enforcement officials.
State police said Melissa C. Sexton, 54, of Clinton, attempted to make a left turn from East South Street onto French Road at about 12:15 p.m. when her 2021 Buick was rear-ended by a 2003 Honda Civic. Troopers said the Honda, driven by Joseph R. Clark, 33, of Vernon Center, overturned in the crash.
Sexton and passenger Patricia Culbertson, 86, were taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, authorities said, while Clark was air-lifted by Mercy Flight helicopter to University Hospital in Syracuse. Troopers said all three were last listed in stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
