WUTR-TV, WSYR-TV and WBGH-TV are partnering to host the final televised debate in the 22nd Congressional race on Monday, Oct. 26, 7 p.m.
The debate will be between incumbent Rep. Anthony Brindisi, D-22, Utica, and former Congresswoman Claudia L. Tenney, a Republican.
The one-hour debate is scheduled to take place at Mohawk Valley Community College’s Utica Campus, 1101 Sherman Drive.
The debate will be moderated by Mike Hoey, WVNY (Burlington, Vt) news anchor and former WUTR Eyewitness News Anchor.
The panel questioning the candidates will include:
• Thomas Fleming, WUTR Eyewitness News anchor;
• Dan Cummings, WSYR Anchor and “Newsmakers with Dan Cummings” host; and
• Jim Ehmke, WBGH news director and anchor.
The event will air across the 22nd Congressional District via live television broadcast on WUTR-TV (ABC Utica), WSYR-TV (ABC Syracuse), and WBGH-TV (NBC Binghamton).
The live debate will also be available for live streaming on cnyhomepage.com, localsyr.com, and binghamtonhomepage.com.
In Utica, radio station WIBX (AM950) will simulcast he debate.
“We are thrilled the local teams at WUTR-TV, WSYR-TV and WBGH-TV are partnering, as we have in the past, to bring local viewers the final televised debate coverage between candidates for U.S. Representative of New York’s 22nd Congressional District,” said Steve Ventura, vice president and general manager of WFXV/WPNY, which provides services to WUTR-TV.
“Experienced local news anchors from each station
will pose questions to the candidates that address the issues importance to voters across
the district,” the WFXV/WPNY president and general manager added.
