UTICA — Quanterion Solutions is launching a cybersecurity resource program this week as a registered champion of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, which is a global initiative to promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices. All month long, Quanterion Solutions is providing resources for businesses and consumers and raising awareness about the importance of remaining vigilant.  

Cybersecurity Awareness Month is co-led by the National Cyber Security Alliance and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.  

Each year, industry, academia, government, nonprofit organizations, and individuals join the effort and commit to doing their part to improve adherence to cybersecurity best practices. The initiative highlights emerging cybersecurity challenges and shares resources to protect devices, accounts, digital identities, and data.

This year’s “It’s easy to stay safe online” theme includes the following focus areas: 

• Recognizing and reporting phishing, which is a primary cybersecurity threat that individuals and organizations face on a daily basis;
• Using password managers to help secure a hacker’s main point of entry;
• Enabling multi-factor authentication on personal devices and business networks; and
• Updating devices to patch security issues that may otherwise be a gateway for a cyberattack.
