Common Council to consider no parking signs on section of Church Street

A regular Rome Common Council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Agenda items up for consideration include a measure that would place “no parking signs” on the 300 block of Church Street between East Court and Stanwix street.

The 300 block of Church Street runs behind the Oneida County Courthouse.

The placement of the signs would ease any obstructions for emergency vehicles and snow plows, city officials say, adding that the action is being considered following a review of requests made by local residents.

Another measure would issue bonds in an amount not to exceed $105,385 to finance the cost of the purchase of machinery and apparatus for construction and maintenance work.

According to the resolution, this translates to one bucket truck for the Department of Public Works.

The meeting may be listened to using a telephone audio stream, city officials
said.

The stream can be accessed by calling 1-408-418-9388 and entering access code 173 109 5720#.
