Colgate's Richardson picked for NABC Senior All-Star Game
Colgate men's basketball team standout Tucker Richardson is getting an all-star opportunity.
Richardson, a Colgate senior, has been selected to the NABC Senior All-Star Game in Houston. The game is set for 4:30 p.m. Eastern time on Friday at NRG Stadium. The building is the site of this year's Final Four, which begins Saturday.
The all-star game is set to be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network, according to a Colgate release.
Richardson is the first Colgate player in program history to be selected for the all-star event and is one of 21 seniors in the country chosen to participate in the game.
As part of the Final Four events, Richardson was also selected for the inaugural College Team Skills & 3X3U Championships, according to a release from the school. The event features a roster of graduating college seniors competing in a variety of competitions including team shootouts, a skills relay, and 3x3 basketball.
The 3X3U Championship event is scheduled for Wednesday and will air on ESPN2 on Sunday at 10 p.m. Eastern.
Richardson, who is from New Jersey, averaged 13.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 2.1 steals per game this season. That helped him Patriot League Player and Defensive Player of the year honors.
He also was named the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year, becoming the first player in league history to earn all four major awards in a career (Rookie of the Year, Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Scholar-Athlete of the Year), according to the school.
The 6-foot-5 guard lead Colgate all-time in games played (155), three-point field goals (268), assists (626) and steals (221). He is also fifth in school history in points (1,740) and rebounds (783).
According to Colgate, Richardson was the only active Division I player with at least 1,600 points, 700 rebounds, 500 assists and 200 steals this season.
The team's season ended in the first round of the NCAA tournament with a loss to Texas earlier this month.
