HAMILTON — The NCAA announced its field of 11 teams for the 2023 NCAA women’s ice hockey tournament as three-seeded Colgate will play host Saturday to the winner of Thursday’s battle between No. 6 Wisconsin and Long Island University.

The Raiders are making their third-straight and fourth overall appearance in the tournament. Last season Colgate fell 2-1 in overtime to Yale in the Regional Final.

Colgate will host a Thursday night battle against No. 6 Wisconsin and LIU, as the winner of Thursday’s matchup will face off against Colgate in the Regional Finals.

LIU punched its ticket for the first time in program history as they downed Saint Anselm 2-1 to win the New England Women’s Hockey Alliance and receive the first-ever automatic bid in conference history.

Wisconsin earned its 10th-straight bid and 17th NCAA Tournament appearance after hearing its name called in Sunday’s Selection Show. The Badgers dropped a semifinals matchup against No. 3 Minnesota by a score of 4-2.

Colgate enters the tournament 32-5-2 after securing their third straight ECAC Hockey championship by a score of 8-2 over No. 9 Clarkson last Saturday. Danielle Serdachny was named Most Outstanding Player by the conference for her five-point performance over the weekend. Forwards Sara Stewart, Elyssa Biederman, and goalie Hannah Murphy were also named to the All-Tournament Team.

Saturday's winner will punch their ticket to the 2023 NCAA Women's Frozen Four in Duluth, Minn.
