Colgate draws Michigan in NCAA Tournament
Colgate men's hockey will head to Allentown, Pennsylvania, Friday to take on top-seeded Michigan in the NCAA Regionals at 8:30 p.m. at the PPL Center. The Raiders earned a spot in the tournament with its ECAC title win Saturday, a 3-2 victory over Harvard.
The game will air live on ESPNU.
It was the second-ever ECAC championship for the Raiders, who were the fifth seed in the tournament and defeated No. 1 Quinnipiac Friday to advance to the title game.
Colgate is 19-15-5 overall and was 11-8-3 in the league.
This will be the program's sixth appearance in the NCAA Tournament and its first since 2014 when it lost to Ferris State in the regional semifinals.
Michigan is the fourth-ranked team in the country, holding a 24-11-3 overall record. The Wolverines are making their third straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament after winning the Big Ten tournament for the second consecutive year.
The two teams have only faced off six times in history, including a NCAA Tournament matchup in 2000, which Michigan won. The Raiders have defeated the Wolverines once, during the 1997-98 season by a score of 2-1.
Ticket information for the game is available at www.ncaatickets.com/championship/mens-frozen-four under Regionals.
