NEW HARTFORD — Seed and Weed Garden Club of Greater Utica is offering a one day guided bus trip to the Finger Lakes to explore the Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion.

The estate is a New York State Historic Park that offers one of the few remaining American estates with a Queen Ann-style mansion and formal gardens. The 11 gardens are easily explored on foot with a guide; tram tours with a guide (if needed) visit most of the gardens. The mansion is open to explore, with docents available for questions. Enjoy a luncheon at a nearby restaurant and then a short drive to a large garden center which will fulfill anyone’s wishes for gardening and gift shopping.

The trip is available for $135 per person and includes guided tour, luncheon, transportation and all gratuities. The trip departs at 7:45 a.m. from Sangertown Square on Seneca Turnpike in New Hartford and then at Thruway Exit 33, returning at approximately 7:30 p.m. Reservations and full payment are due by May 1. Reservations after May 1 will be taken on a space available basis. For more information, call Linda at 315-790-4982.

Seed and Weed Garden Club is a not for profit organization that helps to maintain several local public gardens as well as provide education about good gardening practices and conservation.
