CLINTON — The Clinton Farmers Market, one of the largest markets in the Mohawk Valley region, has opened for its 25th season. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays on the Clinton Village Green.

The market accepts EBT SNAP benefits. The market also operates a SNAP based incentive program called FreshConnect Coupons. The program is designed to increase the purchasing power of SNAP consumers. For every $5 of SNAP benefits redeemed, consumers receive an additional $2 coupon. Customers can come to the Clinton Information Tent to redeem their SNAP benefits.

The Clinton Farmers Market received a Community Health Award from Excellus BlueCross BlueShield to support the Power of Produce (POP) Kids Club at the market. Kids between the ages of 5-12 accompanied by parents/grandparents can stop at the Clinton Chamber of Commerce Information Tent to sign up. Each day they visit the market, kids will receive two $1 tokens to purchase fresh fruit or vegetables allowing them to make healthy choices at an early age.

The market will feature more than 40 vendors from across the Mohawk Valley. Vendors sell locally grown fruits, vegetables, fresh-cut and dried flowers, jams, jellies, meats and cheeses, maple syrup, honey, baked goods, and much more. There is also a selection of handmade arts & crafts items including beautiful watercolor paintings, jewelry, clothing, and many other interesting items for sale. The Kirkland Town Library will offer storytime in the gazebo, a youth market, game tables and tech help. Musicians will be performing throughout the season in the gazebo.
