Clayville man in stable condition following Brookfield crash

TOWN OF BROOKFIELD — A Clayville man is in stable condition after being air-lifted from a crash between a pickup truck and a tractor trailer in Madison County on Sunday.

Sheriff’s deputies said William J. Chaisson, 54, of Clayville, was northbound on Route 8 at about 6 p.m. Sunday when his 2007 GMC pickup entered the oncoming lane and collided with a tractor trailer. Deputies said Chaisson had to be extricated from his vehicle and he was flown by Mercy Flight helicopter to University Hospital in Syracuse. Deputies said Chaisson was last listed in stable condition. They said Chaisson’s passenger was treated and released from a local hospital. The driver of the tractor trailer, 44-year-old Justin W. Parker, of Albany County, was also treated at a local hospital, authorities said.

The accident remains under investigation. No tickets have been issued so far, deputies stated.
