CLINTON — Those at the Fair Trade Shop at Stone Presbyterian Church, 8 S. Park Row, are inviting neighbors to make a holiday tradition out of ornament giving while checking out the variety of ornaments available at the shop.

Examples are the felted wool cardinal ornaments, which are great for bird enthusiasts or nature lovers. It can be hung on a holiday tree or can perch on a windowsill year-round. Handmade in Guatemala, it has a convenient loop for hanging.

Those and several other gift items from 36 different countries can be found at the Fair Trade Shop. The shop is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursdays, and the second Saturday of the month. It will also be open Saturdays between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Purchasing fair trade items ensures artisans and small farmers fair wages and healthy working conditions, providing dignity, sustainable development and hope to marginalized people.
