The Rome Area Chamber of Commerce is helping a local credit union mark 70 years of serving the financial needs of community members.
At 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, Adam Hovak, chairman of the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce, will present a congratulatory certificate to Ron Belle, CEO of AmeriCU Credit Union, at the credit union’s headquarters, 1916 Black River Blvd, to help celebrate of the organization’s 70th anniversary.
Since 1950, AmeriCU has proudly served their members and their families as a trusted financial partner. They will take the opportunity to celebrate their 70th anniversary as they commemorate International Credit Union Day.
As part of the celebration, the theme to this year’s International Credit Union Day is “Inspiring Hope for a Global Community,” which “illustrates how credit unions contribute to a brighter future by providing financial empowerment to people all over the world through financial services, education and support,” notes a release.
“Due to the pandemic, AmeriCU has modified how they will be celebrating International Credit Union Day with members and the community,” the announcement said. “Plenty of fun giveaways are planned if you’re visiting inside the Financial Centers or using one of the Drive-Thrus. Be on the lookout for AmeriCU employees dressed in their 50s best, and be sure to follow AmeriCU Credit Union on Facebook at www.facebook.com/americu for a chance to win some retro prizes,” a release continues.
