Chamber honors Nascentia Health

Nascentia Health was named the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce Business of the Week.

According to the chamber announcement, Nascentia Health has served central New York since 1890 with customized, patient-focused home nursing care.

In Oneida County, it offers a full range of in-home skilled nursing care and home health aide services to help its clients stay independent and healthy right in their own homes.

The company also offers Medicare Advantage Plans and a Managed Long Term Care Plan for those dually eligible for Medicaid and Medicare services. During the pandemic, Nascentia’s nursing team quickly pivoted to aid in the response by sending teams of nurses to staff local COVID testing centers, and going door-to-door at senior living complexes to test vulnerable populations. In March 2021, Nascentia became the region’s first provider of home-based vaccinations.

“We’re proud that throughout the past year, we were able to expand and focus our skills on what our communities needed most — all while maintaining the same high level of service to all of our existing home care clients,” June Castle, the company’s chief administrative officer.

“Looking forward, Nascentia Health recently purchased The Beeches complex in Rome and will be revitalizing this community asset by restoring and updating the conference and events center and developing a mix of independent and supportive senior housing,” Castle said.

“We’re excited about this next chapter and what it means for the many seniors in Oneida County looking for high-quality housing options focused on their needs,” the CAO added.
