UTICA — The John E. Creedon Police Benevolent Association, which represents members of the Utica Police Department, has endorsed Todd Carville in his run for Oneida County District Attorney, according to campaign officials.

“The John E. Creedon PBA carefully chooses who we endorse. We believe that Todd Carville possesses the knowledge and understanding to hold such a position,” wrote union president Joshua Harrington in a letter to the campaign.

“We are confident in his abilities to hold offenders accountable and keep our community safe.”

Carville, who works as an assistant district attorney, is so far running unopposed for the position of Oneida County’s top prosecutor. He is chief of the homicide bureau and has been with the office for 20 years. He has previously been endorsed by the Oriskany Police Department union and one of the unions that represents members of the New York State Police.

Election Day is set for Tuesday, Nov. 7. Incumbent Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara has announced that he is not running for reelection.
