Capitol to buy new sound board with funds from Boeheim Foundation

The Capitol Theatre at 220 West Dominick St. has received a $2,795 grant from the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation of Syracuse to purchase and install a new sound board for use in its live musical, theatrical, and civic events, according to a release.

“A new sound board was necessary as a part of a larger project to upgrade the theater’s overall sound system. The previous sound board had become technologically outdated over the years and was long in need of replacement. The Capitol is now seeking funding from other sources to help it purchase the remaining equipment it needs to complete the update,” a release continues.

In addition to being used for Rising Stars - a youth program that teaches performing and life skills through games, and performances - the new equipment will be used for the Capitol’s SummerStage musical theater productions, concerts, and a variety of private and community events.
