Bulldogs defeat Wildcats


Kyle LaGasse scored 21 points for the Westmoreland boys basketball team as the Bulldogs defeated visiting Center State Conference foe Adirondack 69-39 on Saturday.

LaGasse also dished out seven assists and had four steals for the 2-0 Bulldogs. Josh Suber chipped in 20 points for Westmoreland, knocking down five threes. He also had five assists and three steals. Matt Doyle recorded a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

Oneida edges VVS

In a Tri-Valley League boys basketball game, host Oneida edged Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, 62-58, on Friday night.

Four Oneida players scored in double figures; Hunter West with 19, Andrew Smith with 14, Riley Wallis with 13 and Dylan McCleland with 11. Bryce Palmer led VVS with 19 points, Alen Dedic scored 10 and Matt Hicks chipped in nine.
