Building destroyed by fire in Herkimer County
HERKIMER — No one was injured when a building was destroyed by fire on Osborne Hill Road in Herkimer County early Tuesday morning, according to the East Herkimer Fire Department.
Fire officials said the alarm was raised at 6:45 a.m. for a structure on fire at 615 Osborne Hill Road. Volunteers from five local departments — East Herkimer, Newport, Mohawk, Schuyler and Middleville — responded to the scene, in the middle of Tuesday morning’s heavy snowstorm.
Crews worked throughout the morning and doused the blaze. The structure sustained heavy fire damage. No one was injured, authorities said. The cause remains under investigation.
