Bird rescue focus of event
OLD FORGE — Deborah Saltis from Falcon Heart Rescue will be at the Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd., to give a presentation about bird rescue and rehabilitation from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 28.
Falcon Heart Rescue rehabilitates injured raptors, including falcons, hawks and owls, and releases them back into the wild. Deborah will bring some of her favorite birds along which are typically only visible from a distance in the wild.
Children and families will learn a host of facts about the birds.
Falcon Heart Rescue is a non-profit wildlife rehabilitation organization located in Herkimer.
The program was created as part of the Old Forge Library’s summer Reading Program, Read Beyond the Beaten Path, and all children enrolled in the program will sit near the front. This presentation is family friendly and open to all, and so the general public and animal lovers are encouraged to attend. The program will be held on the library lawn under the tent, visitors are encouraged to dress for the weather.
