CAZENOVIA — A barricaded standoff in Madison County came to a peaceful end at roughly the 22-hour mark Friday afternoon, according to law enforcement officials.
The identity of the 36-year-old male responsible has not yet been released by law enforcement.
Sheriff’s deputies said they were called to the man’s residence on Carriage Lane at about 6 p.m. Thursday, after which he threatened the officers and barricaded himself inside. Authorities said the man used force against the officers and was armed inside his home. The area around the residence, including Route 20, was blocked off while law enforcement began negotiations to wait him out. Authorities said the man surrendered peacefully at about 4 p.m. Friday.
The investigation is ongoing and all roads were reopened.
