ROME — The Afro-American Heritage Association of Rome will present its 2023 Black History Month Celebration at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at Rome Free Academy cafeteria, 95 Dart Circle.

The guest speaker will be Dr. Rita Dixon Gaither, founder of Pearl Resources, Inc., according to an announcement by event organizers.

Pearl Resources, Inc. is a non-profit that focuses on the needs of the disenfranchised. Its mission is to maximize the strengths and talents of all individuals by identifying and eliminating barriers and hindrances that prevent success.

The celebration will serve as an afternoon of reflection, inspiration, music and dance, featuring the Fellowship Choir of Utica and Kingdom Harvest YABB Mime Ministry of Rome, event organizers added.
