AdironDUCK race and pancake breakfast to benefit FFA
CROGHAN — All are invited to the 2023 AdironDUCK Race on Sunday, April 30, at the Oswegatchie Educational Center, 9340 Long Pond Road.
Enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast, free entertainment, and watch as many as 10,000 rubber ducks race down the West Branch of the Oswegatchie River.
The day begins with an “all-you-can-eat” pancake breakfast for $10 per person, served from 8 a.m. until noon in Sentinel Hall.
At 1 p.m., the high point of the day is the dumping of as many as 10,000 rubber ducks into the chilly waters of the Oswegatchie River.
The adopters of the first 15 ducks to cross the gates will receive cash prizes including a $2,000 grand prize.
Ducks are $10 each and may be purchased online or in person the day of the race.
Every duck purchase directly supports a FFA chapter of your choosing, as well as the Oswegatchie Educational Center summer camp program.
Ducks can be purchased online at www.adironduckrace.com.
Troy Wunderle’s One Man Circus performs at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. There will also be a variety of craft and food vendors, local artisans onsite, and a penny social will also take place within the dining hall facility.
The annual “AdironDUCK 6K Trail Run, Walk, or Ride” around Long Pond will also take place at 10 am. The event registration is $15 and includes a pancake breakfast.
Registration is open now at www.adironduckrace.com.
