Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors opens at View

OLD FORGE — The 40th annual Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors opens at View, the center for arts and culture, on Aug. 7 and will run through Sept. 26.

ANEAW is View’s signature show and open to all artists working in water-based media. This year’s exhibition will feature 83 artists from across the country. The Juror of Selection for this year’s exhibition is Pat Dew, AWS-df, NWS and the Juror of Awards is Matthew Bird, NWS, TWSA. In conjunction with the exhibition, several events and workshops will be held throughout the week following the opening. 

A special opening reception will be held for all View Members & Exhibiting Artists on Friday, Aug. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m.

The annual ANEAW Lecture and Breakfast will take place on Aug. 7 at 9 a.m., with Juror of Awards Matthew Bird, NWS, TWSA. The lecture portion of the event will be live streamed for those not in the Old Forge area. Registration for both the in-person and virtual portions is required at ViewArts.org/events.

To celebrate theOpening Weekend of ANEAW, all visitors will receive half-off admission to the galleries on Saturday, Aug. 7, and Sunday, Aug. 8.

Members of theCentral New York Watercolor Society will be holding classes for the public every day from Aug. 9 through Aug. 13. For more information or to register, visit ViewArts.org/workshops/finearts.
