YORKVILLE — A New York Mills man caught on camera stealing a package off a front porch on Whitesboro Street has been taken into custody, according to the Yorkville Police Department.

Police said Gary J. Bowman, of New York Mills, walked onto a front porch on Whitesboro Street around 10:30 a.m. Nov. 16 and snatched a box near the front door. Police said the theft was captured on security cameras at the home and Bowman was eventually identified.

Bowman was taken into custody on one count of petty larceny, a misdemeanor, police stated. He was released on an appearance ticket to Yorkville Village court on Dec. 5.
