CLINTON — Kirkland Art Center, 9 1/2 E. Park Row, will host the 43rd annual KAC Run & Walk on Saturday, June 4.

With the support of the Town of Kirkland, the Village of Clinton, and Department of Transportation, the art center will offer a safe and enjoyable experience for all the family for the 43rd time in the history of the organization.

The 5K event will start at 8:30 a.m. at Clinton High School, with packet pick-up starting at 7 a.m. The kids’ 1-mile race starts at 9:30 a.m., and there will be fun runs for children at the school.

The USTAF certified 5K run has been known as a good warm-up for Boilermaker runners, organizers said. While participants can sign up the day of the race, the race is capped at 200, so early registration is encouraged to avoid disappointment on the day.

All runners and walkers are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. Registration is available online at https://runsignup.com/Race/NY/Clinton/KACRunandWalk and from 7-8 a.m. on the day of the race.

“We are excited to announce that our festival on the green is back this year. There will be food, music and activities for the children, in addition to the races scheduled,” said KAC Executive Director David Fitzgerald.

The KAC Run & Walk will be followed by the annual Festival on the Green from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with music from the gazebo, carnival games, food vendors, and art activities for children. Jonathan Woodward, of Clinton Pottery, will host his Seconds Sale, and his famous Dragon Run will be a highlight of the day.

The KAC Run & Walk is the longest running community event for the art center and is the largest fundraiser of the year for the organization. It has drawn hundreds of people of all ages on the first Saturday in June, every year except 2020, for 43 years. A volunteer committee organizes the race, and the event benefits from major sponsorships by local businesses.

Contact Kirkland Art Center at 315-853-8871 or info@kacny.org for more information about the race or if you, your troop, team, or community organization would like to volunteer to help with the run.
