Open houses for Girl Scout camps this summer will be held in May, and those attending open houses must register by April 29, announced Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways of New Hartford. The camps are geared for girls entering grades 2-12 this fall, and attendees do not need to be Girl Scouts.
Open houses at resident camps will include May 5 at the Comstock Program Center north of Ithaca, and May 19 at Camp Trefoil in Harrisville. They are free to attend, and offer opportunities to meet the camp directors, tour the facilities, shop the camp trading posts, and learn about other activities in store this summer. Among the programs: "Team Extreme," working to solve problems and riddles; "Club Cayuga," where girls can pamper themselves during a spa week; "Craft Craze," for trying crafts like jewelry making, nature crafts, tie dying, pottery, and painting; "Learn the Ropes," for challenges on the new ropes course; and "Backpack Trip," for a trip in the high peaks of the Adirondacks.
