Rome boys turn back Whitesboro

The Rome Free Academy junior varsity boys basketball team came up with a 58-45 triumph over visiting Whitesboro on Saturday.

Zack Rotundo led RFA with 16 points, as Eddie Campos added 13 points, five assists and three steals. Brandon Fiorenza chipped 11 points, and Isaiah Harris dished five assists and made four steals. Rome’s record moves to 9-6.

Win for Westmoreland

The Westmoreland boys modified basketball squad traveled to Sherburne-Earlville and picked up a 41-23 win.

The Bulldogs were led by Zach Stephens with 10 points, as Colin DeBiase and Donte Hubal put in seven points apiece.

Bulldogs fall on road

In other boys modified basketball action, the Westmoreland B team suffered a 32-23 defeat from Sherburne-Earlville on the road.

Malique Shamsid-Deen collected eight points to pace the Bulldogs.

Westmoreland girls lose

The Westmoreland girls modified A and B basketball teams suffered loses to Sherburne-Earlville.

The A team dropped 28-10 as Kia Barber and Jeanna Hauk led the way with four points apiece. The B squad fell 18-13 as Martina Shackelford paced Westmoreland with seven points.

The two teams came up with victories over Poland on Thursday, with the A squad winning 24-15 and the B team coming out with a 29-21 decision

Kayla Lenahan had seven points for the B team, and Jeanna Hauk also collected seven points for the A team.Rome
