Judith A. "Judy" Burk, 67, of Floyd, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012, with her loving family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on August 13, 1944, in Rome, the daughter of the late Sanford and Marion Dewey Selden. Judy was raised in Holland Patent and also attended Whitesboro schools.
Judy worked at Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Marcy until 2005, retiring due to illness.
She was a member of the Roberts Post Legion and the Stittville VFW.
Judy was a devoted mother, nana, and friend. She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen and Richard Cardinal, of Floyd, and Kelly Dechene-Lubeck, of Rome. "Queen Nana" was also survived by her two granddaughters, Rebecca Cardinal and Alyssa Lubeck, who were her pride and joy; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Curtis and Phyllis Selden, and Neil Selden, of Rochester; and many aunts, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Sanford Selden; and special aunts and uncles.
Judy’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to all her special friends and neighbors for all their love and support.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012, at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in Holland Patent Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
