AVA — The Ava Hilltop United Methodist Church on Route 26 holdS its annual Church / Community picnic on Sunday, Aug. 12.

The Rev. Lamar Claypool will lead the regular 9:30 a.m. church service, but it will be transformed into a hymn sing with music being provided by the Dorr family. A love offering will be taken.

At noon the grills will be fired up. The church will provide: hamburgers, hot dogs, paper goods and beverages. Participants are asked to bring a dish to pass. There will be musical entertainment at the picnic.

"Everyone is invited to come join the festivities and get reacquainted with your neighbors," church officials said.
