Nicholas F. Tarbania, Jr., 49, of Westfield, PA, formerly of Rome, passed away on July 31, 2012 in Sayre, PA after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Rome on January 22, 1963, he was the son of Nicholas F. and Mary T. Martin Tarbania, Sr. Nicholas was the step-son of William Jones IV. He received his education in the Rome schools.
Fishing, camping and watching sports on TV were Nick’s favorite pastimes. The Fall season was his favorite as his beloved Dallas Cowboys were playing and he was a consummate Cowboy fan. Prior to his illness, he was employed by Tioga Container.
Surviving are his fiancee, Victoria Smith, to whom Nick was to be married this Fall; his mother, Mary Jones; two daughters, Autumn and Cassidy; one son, Hunter; step-son Gage; three sisters, Rose Tarbania, Mary O’Brien and Bea Tarbania and two brothers, Dominick Tarbania and Tomas Tarbania. Also surviving are Victoria’s two daughters, Kristina and Chelsea, several nieces and nephews and his very close friend, Michael Turck.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 6 PM at the Strong and Burns Funeral Home, 401 N. George St., Rome. Burial will be private at the convenience of family. Friends may call from 3 to 6 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations to help defray Nick’s medical expenses.
