BOONVILLE — A woman was charged with driving while under the influence of twice the legal limit of alcohol after she was seen swerving on Woodgate Drive early Friday.

Patrolman David Humphries said he saw an eastbound vehicle that kept traveling into the westbound lane at about 1:44 a.m. He stopped the car and identified the driver as Nicole Podkowka, 34, of 9227 Hawkinsville Road.

Podkowka was taken into custody and brought to the Public Safety Building where she registered a blood alcohol content of 0.16 percent, Humphries said.

Podkowka was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or greater and failure to keep right.

She will appear in Village Court Aug. 8.
