VERONA BEACH — Joan C. Burlison, 78, of East Oneida Street, passed away on Saturday afternoon, July 28, 2012, in Upstate University Hospital, where she had been admitted the day before.
Born in Oneida on December 14, 1933, she was the daughter of Fred W. and Pearl E. Doty Clark. A lifelong resident of the area, Joan was a graduate of Oneida High School, Class of 1951.
She retired in 1999 as the Postmaster in Clockville. Joan loved her pets and spent time enjoying her flower garden. She considered her biggest hobby to be her family. Joan was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Talia C. and Kevin Baker of West Lyden; two sons, Herman D. Havener of Durhamville and Jon M. Havener of Verona Beach; two grandchildren, Tyler and Hermie Havener, both of Durhamville; one sister, Judith Snow of Oneida; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Andrew M. Havener on September 30, 1990, and one brother and one sister.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be made in Grove Cemetery.
