Vernon golfer captures her age division at Stonebridge course

NEW HARTFORD — Amanda Snizek of Vernon shot a 93 round of golf to claim the top honors in the girls 16-18 age division during the latest stage of the Mohawk Valley Junior Golf Tour at the Stonebridge Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.

Mike Kalil from Clinton won the boys 16-18 age division with a 74, while fellow Clinton native Nathan Hagstrom took second with a 75, and Sean Wuest from Whitesboro finished with a 76.

Other winners included, 11-year-old Sydney Bard from New Hartford shot an even par 37 on the back side to take the girls 12 and under division, 14-year-old Bobby Davenport from Herkimer shot a two-under par 70 to win the boys 13-15 division, while Maryrose Mauro from New Hartford and Dominique Bevivino from Utica tied to win the girls 13-15 division with a 51 scores, and Michael Mandel from New Hartford claimed the boys 12 and under division with a 42 score.

Rome’s Brian Birnie came in third in the boys 13-15 division with a 74 as Sam Tornatore from Deerfield took second in the event with a 72.

The seventh stage of the MVJGT is set for Monday at Woodgate Pines in Boonville.
