Follow up in drive-by shooting

The investigation into a drive-by shooting from Friday night that left an 11-year-old girl injured by gunshots continues.

Police responded to 602 Park Drive for a report of shots fired shortly after 9:30 p.m. and found that the girl had been hit and suffered injuries to her face, neck and arm. The victim, who was not identified, was held overnight at a Utica hospital for observation.

Detective Commander Timothy J. Bates said the suspect vehicle has been described as an older model silver or gold-colored sedan.

"We’re investigating some leads" at this time, Bates said today.
