Shirley A. Clintsman, 77, of Gulf Rd., Rome, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born on September 21, 1934, in Carthage, NY, the daughter of Marzy and Gladys Hall Walker.
On May 30, 1952, Shirley was united in marriage to Charles Clintsman.
Shirley was a cook at Rogues Roost, Cazenovia Country Club, Albert’s Restaurant, and St. Luke’s Hospital. In her retirement, she helped care for the flowers at Teugega Country Club.
She enjoyed quilting and painting.
Surviving besides her loving husband of sixty years, Charles; are four daughters and two sons-in-law, Paula Clintsman, of Sarasota, FL, Leslie and Frank DeLorenzo, of Bridgeport, Angela Grabosky and Ron Menecke, of Oriskany Falls, and Shari and Frank Conestabile, of Lee Center; a son, Charles Clintsman, of Utica; a sister; three brothers; eighteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Shirley was predeceased by a daughter, Lisa Connell; a grandson, Seth Grabosky; two sisters; and a brother.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012, at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, at 12:30 PM. Entombment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yorkville. Family and friends are invited and may call on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Shirley’s memory to American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
