Youth Bureau sets August deadline for non-profit program proposals

Oneida County Youth Bureau is accepting proposals from non-profit organizations that would like to provide youth-oriented programs next year that feature delinquency prevention, recreation and positive youth development components.

Three funding categories are available:

— Special Delinquency Development Program is for youth with specific needs to prevent involvement or repeated involvement with the juvenile justice system. These funds do not require an agency to match funding with its own resources.

— Youth Development Delinquency Prevention Program funding supports recreational and other youth service initiatives. These funds require a 50 percent cash match from the agency seeking funding.

— Runaway and Homeless Youth Act funding provides crisis and transitional living services. A 40 percent agency match is required.

Proposals are due Aug. 10.

Forms and documents required to submit a proposal in accordance with the state Office of Children and Family Services and the county, are available at www.ocgov.net at the Youth Bureau section. For more information, call Tom Giruzzi, 798-5027.
