Silversmiths yield 22 runs in NYCBL loss to Junior Chiefs

SHERRILL — The Sherrill Silversmiths fell victim to a 22-5 romp at the hands of the Syracuse Junior Chiefs at Noyes Park on Monday in New York Collegiate Baseball League action.

Mike Weakley and Bryon Campbell each had three hits for Sherrill, with Weakley connecting for a home run and a double and Campbell driving in a run. Nate Flemister and Mike Mazzara also homered for the hosts.

Jordan Doroshenko took the pitching loss after allowing seven runs in three innings.

Ryan Sonberg led Syracuse with two home runs and seven RBIs, while Zach Lauricella added two home runs and five RBIs.

Sherrill, 8-15, will visit the Syracuse Salt Cats today at 5 p.m.
