ONEIDA — A Vernon man was charged with reckless driving Thursday afternoon because law enforcers said he was behind the wheel under the influence of bath salts.

Police said Craig S. Revette, 32, of Peterboro Road, was southbound on South Willow Street at 4:21 p.m. when his vehicle crossed the oncoming lane, went off the roadway and crashed into a tree near Lincoln Avenue. Police said Revette was driving under the influence of bath salts, which cause unpredictable and unstable behavior.

Revette is charged with reckless driving and failure to keep right, police stated. He is scheduled to appear in City Court.
