Dorothy Lee, affectionately known as Tod, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, June 23, 2012 at the age of 71.
She is survived by one son, David M. O’Brien, his spouse Jennifer O’Brien, and grandson David J. O’Brien. Dorothy was predeceased by her brother Marty Ornsby and her beloved husband Richard T. Lee.
Dorothy was born in Albany, NY on January 25, 1941, the daughter of Dorothy Ornsby. She is a graduate of Russell Sage College, and has been a substitute teacher at Rome Free Academy for the past 9 years.
In the early 70’s she married the love of her life, Richard T. Lee.
Tod had a passion for cooking!! The dishes she prepared were terrific and she graciously shared her delectable treats. She thoroughly enjoyed her massive cookbook collection and Michael Bolton!
The students at RFA brought out her wit and delightful personality. Mrs. Lee was thrilled when she was called to come to school. She loved interacting with her students.
Her loyal companions for almost 12 years were her two poodles, George and Harry, who loved her dearly. She knew how to treat them and everyone else like royalty!
Family and friends are invited and may call at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a service to immediately follow.
