REMSEN — Clarence L. Evans 74, of Remsen passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at his home.
He was born on October 10, 1937 in Utica a son of the late Howard and Rena (Fallon) Evans. On December 10, 1960 in Floyd he married Susan Nemyier.
Clarence was a self employed Carpenter, who was well known throughout the area for his excellent craftsmanship. He always took great pride in his work and had a very strong work ethic. He loved spending time with his friends at many of the local coffee shops around town and was known as a real jokester. He was at his happiest when he was relaxing at home watching television, he especially enjoyed Fox News.
He is survived by his wife Susan Evans of Remsen, his children, Nancy Evans of Nashville, TN., Ginger Gibson and her husband Earl of Sarasota, FL, and Dan Evans and his wife Kathleen of Cooperstown. He also leaves his grandchildren, Evan Gibson and his wife Rachel, Julia Gibson, Scott and Kathryn Evans, Ryan, Jay, Grant and Alisa Davine. His sisters and brothers, Beverly Magyar of Rome, William Evans and his wife Vie of Rome, Donald Evans of Portsmouth, VA and Joyce LaManque and her husband John of Holland Patent, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Hazel Tataro and Helen Brooks.
The family wishes to sincerely thank Hospice & Palliative Care and the Westernville Fire Dept. for the wonderful care that was given to Clarence during his illness.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home 7944 Steuben St. Holland Patent with the Rev. Susan Solomon officiating. Interment will be in Holland Patent Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
